Little About Me
Well, hello there! I’m Bentley Thompson, the mastermind behind this wild ride of a novel you’re about to embark on. (Actually, it’s part of a growing series!)
I know what you’re thinking: “Oh, great, another author bio. Time to learn about his cat.”
No. Not so fast—I don’t own a cat. Neither am I your average novelist.
I’m a bit of a jack-of-all-trades. I entertained young college physics students some years ago for nearly 12 years. I enjoyed their after-class discussions about evolution, Bible prophecy, and of course—my vegetarian diet.
Later, I left the classroom for the server room—computer networking. But I missed teaching. Leading Bible study classes at my church continues to fill that void. So, you asked me, “What do you do?” Well, I’m an empire-dreaming-technologist-author. It’s a thing, trust me.
But here’s the real kicker: I’ve spent my entire life finding more proof that we live in a crazy world but the Bible tells that this turbulence won’t last forever. We may ignore global challenges, turn the pages on ancient ruins, welcome scholarly exchanges, or geek out over the latest tech advances…
Still, we should not ignore the timeless wisdom of the past and how dependable it is in helping us navigate the challenges we face here on into the future.
That’s where “Dream of Empire” comes in. This book is my magnum opus, the culmination of all my passions and obsessions rolled into one epic tale. I’ve poured my heart, soul, and probably way too much effort at being humorous into crafting a historical novel that will make you catch the hope and promise declared in an ancient dream given by a God called Ancient of Days.
When I’m not writing mind-bending novels (and skits) or tinkering with my computer gadgets, I’m at home with my amazing wife—she thinks I have only a theoretical appreciation for the gym nowadays. But I enjoy a classical music concert, and any conversation that starts with “So, have you ever wondered…?”
So, there you have it. I’m just a regular guy with a slightly more than ordinary appreciation for the intersection of ancient Bible prophecy, the end times, and modern technology. And I’m thrilled to have you along for the ride.
Buckle up, my friend. There’s even more to be written about peace and happiness in this world.
